Buenos Aires begins to define the TCR South America championship

Buenos Aires (Argentina), September 13, 2022 – The arrival of the TCR South America at the Ciudad Autodromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez in Buenos Aires marks the beginning of the definition of the championship that will have its last appointment in San Juan Villicum. With two races to be held on Sunday, the category is preparing for one of the most important events on the 2022 calendar that will see the participation of new drivers and teams.

The particularity of this date is that at the end of Sunday, all the drivers will have to rule out a championship race to form the general table of the championship. This competition of the 2022 calendar cannot be any of the Endruance, nor the one in which they were excluded from the event or in which they have not participated.

Without counting these discards, at the moment the leader of the general is the Argentine Fabricio Pezzini with 401 points, followed by his compatriot Juan Ángel Rosso with 329 units and the Brazilian Raphael Reis with 317. The Top 5 is completed by the Argentine Manuel Sapag with 309 and the Brazilian ascendant Pedro Aizza with 271.

For its part, a championship that can be defined on this date is the team championship. With 715 units, PMO Motorsport with its Lynk & Co has an advantage of 182 over its immediate rival, the W2 Pro GP with its CUPRA. Another that is also in the definition zone is the Trophy Cup where the Brazilian Fabio Casagrande leads with 399 points over the Uruguayan Enrique Maglione who reaches 308 units.

The activity will begin on Friday with a shakedown and will continue on Saturday with the two training sessions and qualifying. On Sunday morning Race 1 will start and at noon it will be Race 2.

This weekend will see the presence of the American with Argentine roots Roy Block in a Squadra Martino Honda FK7 and the debut of the Milanese Sport with another Honda Civic FK7 that will have the Argentine XXX at the wheel.
