Monday, January 11, 2021 | The tire test day at the Velopark circuit in Porto Alegre finished successfully. The first part of the morning was devoted to set up the cars and the track. Then four classification simulations were carried out, testing three compounds from three different brands. In the afternoon, different race simulations were carried out, also with different compounds and brands, in order to determine the durability of the tires. The race simulations were three in total and each lasted 30 minutes, alternating between the different tire suppliers.
All the tests of the day were carried out in Guilherme Reischl’s Audi RS3 LMS TCR of the Rio Grande do Sul MC Tubarão team, driven by the experienced Brazilian driver Nonô Figueiredo. The test plan and general supervision for the day was in charge of Samuel Canca, Technical Director of TCR South America.
Samuel Canca, Technical Director of TCR South America explained: “It was a very productive day at the Velopark circuit. We were able to successfully complete the plan we had planned for today. All the objectives were met. Thanks to Nonô Figueiredo and the MC Tubarão team for their professionalism and for the work done today.”
In the next few days, new test days will be held to later confirm the category’s tire supplier for the 2021 season.
