The Car One Grand Prix in El Pinar will be the fifth date of the TCR South America

Canelones (Uruguay), August 3, 2022 – The TCR South America closes its visit to Uruguayan lands with the Car One Grand Prix that will be held this coming weekend at the Victor Borrat Fabini circuit in El Pinar. The fifth date of the 2022 calendar will have the traditional format of the category with two races that will be on Sunday at 9:40 and 11:40.

With the results of the last date in Rivera where the Argentine Rosso climbed to the top of the podium in both races, the championship was red hot with three drivers locked in 44 points. Argentine Fabricio Pezzini continues to lead with 286 points, followed by Brazilian Raphael Reis with 256 and Rosso with 244.

Located in El Pinar (Canelones), the Victor Borrat Fabini track is characterized by very demanding braking and high tire consumption. Unlike last year, this time the TCR South America will do the perimeter circuit of 2660 meters.

The schedule will be made in three days. On Friday there will be a shakedown and free practice. Saturday’s activity will be with the second practice and classification. For Sunday there will be two races, one in the morning and one at noon.

The novelty this weekend will be the arrival in the category of the Squadra Martino Uruguay that will have two Alfa Romeo Giulietta that will be commanded by the Uruguayans Rodrigo Aramendia and Fernando Rama. The first already participated in the last date in Rivera and the other made a pair with Enrique Maglione in the Interlagos Endurance race.

The Car One Grand Prix, as this date is officially called, will have special prizes for the three drivers with the most points throughout the weekend. At the end of the second race, a special podium will be held for the Car One award ceremony.
