The TCR South America visits the Eduardo P. Cabrera International Racetrack to race the fourth date of the championship
Rivera (Uruguay), July 12, 2022 – After passing through Brazilian lands, the TCR South America arrives in Uruguay to race the fourth and fifth dates of the 2022 championship. The first of the two Uruguayan events will take place this coming weekend at the Eduardo P. Cabrera International Racetrack in the city of Rivera.
As in Goiania, the TCR South America will feature the traditional format of two races per weekend. Both will be on Sunday and, as always, the second one will be with the inverted grid of the first ten of the classification on Saturday.
The TCR South America will visit this circuit for the second time, located northwest of the cities of Rivera (Uruguay) and Santana do Livramento (Brazil). The 3,080-meter track has 15 curves, has fast sectors and some unevenness that makes it very attractive for driving.
The schedule will be divided in three days. On Friday there will be a shakedown and free practice. Saturday’s activity will be with the second practice and classification. For Sunday there will be two races, one in the morning and one at noon.
As for those registered, this weekend will be the debut of Guilherme Reischl in the PMO Racing Peugeot 308 TCR, after leaving the Audi RS3 that contested the first three rounds of the championship. Another novelty is the incorporation of the Uruguayans Rodrigo Aramendia and Hernán Giuria to the Alfa Romeos of Prop Car Racing.
The championship is led by Fabricio Pezzini’s #7 Lynk & Co with 223 points, followed by Raphael Reis’s #77 CUPRA with 200 and Manuel Sapag’s #33 Lynk & Co with 167.
