The Toyota GRS TCR already has official certification and will make its world debut at TCR South America
Buenos Aires (Argentina), July 8, 2022 – The arrival of a new model at the TCR ensures the great moment that the motorsport concept promoted by the WSC is having. This category continues to expand its participation in the world with the start of the TCR South America in 2021.
The great news is that this week the provisional homologation of the Corolla GRS TCR that is developed in Argentina for the world was confirmed. The Toyota model was added to the list of certified cars for the category, according to the TCR Technical Bulletin n.7.
The homologation processes were extensive but finally the Corolla successfully fulfilled each of the certifications. After performance balance checks, it was assigned a curb weight of 2,789 pounds (2,755 pounds for endurance racing) and a ground clearance of 3.14 inches.
The Toyota Corolla will have its world debut when the TCR South America visits the Autodromo de Termas de Río Hondo on August 26, 27 and 28 for the sixth round of the calendar that will have the Endurance format with two drivers per car.
